Your new favorite margarita
Sit back, relax, and enjoy this fun twist on a classic cocktail - the beloved margarita!
Ingredients
Mezcal - This spirit has a lot of the same ingredients as tequila. However, instead of the agave being steamed, it is cooked in an underground fire pit. This is what gives mezcal its delicious smokey flavor
Cointreau - A standard ingredient in all margaritas, and many other cocktails. The orange liqueur helps balance out the margarita as a whole
Coconut milk - This is where we get out coconut flavor from! You can use any you have on hand, canned or bottle. Just be careful of the fat content or you might not have a perfectly mixed drink. You should avoid using coconut cream if possible, or make sure it is melted first.
Lime Juice - Another margarita staple!
Jalapeño - this addition is optional but recommended if you love a spicy margarita!
Steps to make
The good news is, there virtually are none!
Step 1 - Add everything to a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice cubes. Shake for roughly 30 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
Step 2 - Double strain into your favorite margarita glass. I like to use the double straining method to make sure I don't wind up drinking any rouge jalapeño seeds!
Step 3 - It's recommend you serve with chips and guacamole and enjoy!
